A4 Portrait Products
These products were the most common to be printed on gravure presses, however, over the past few years the need to reduce print costs, has seen a trend towards smaller pages sizes.
This trend lends itself to gravure print, as a move towards smaller pages sizes does show real cost savings, and because paper for gravure is ‘bespoke’ this eliminates excess paper wastage.
At D C Thomson we stock five different sizes of cylinders to produce A4 and similar size brochures. The cylinders we hold for these products are (in millimetres):
800, 880, 940, 1320, 1410
From these cylinders we are able to produce a variety of either 4 round or 6 round brochures. This means we can print a brochure from 16 pages, up to 84 pages, in one pass (dependent on page depth). These products can all be stitched and trimmed in-line for immediate dispatch, or can be delivered as untrimmed sections for off-line binding.
